Simplicity Is Key

Simplicity for me is key when raising 2 toddler boys and holding a full time job, easy go to outfit that I can get ready fast and look chic at the same time.  Sometimes for me the simplest outfit is the most comfortable, it is not about how much you can add on to make the outfit shine.  What makes the outfit and person wearing stand out is the attitude that person puts forth.  I am keeping it simple for this weekday outfit, I went with my mint polka dot pants and a mustard shirt and to keep everything neutral I went with brown accents in my shoes and necklace (I did have a blue jean jacket that is not pictured).  And because I am still obsessed with my MK purse I did not change that.  To keep it in the simple frame of mind I went with my natural hair (maybe I look a bit like the lion king) but I love the natural waves and volume I feel it gives the outfit an extra touch.

I wanted to let you guys know that I am changing the blog from a fashion and beauty blog to a personal lifestyle blog.  I feel this way I can bring more topics to the table and it will give me and you more variety.  Thank you for all your support this past year and I know that things have been a little slow around here (blog) but I am working on some new things that has taken up a little bit of my time.

Oldies Inspired Outfit!

 Hellooooooooo my loves! long time no see huh? I am sorry i've been MIA call it a break... or lack of inspiration, but the good news is that I am back.  To start off this week's post is a little oldies inspired outfit.  I bought these pants from Old Navy and I loveee them they are super comfy and the print is just so fabulous.  I can see myself wearing these pants a lot they are so versatile and I can't wait to style them again.  What do you guys think of this outfit?

Polka Dots and Ruffles For Work

Hey Loves!! I always get the morning blues and finding an outfit for work can sometime be daunting so early in the morning especially if you have kids that you also need to get ready.  So I always try my hardest to pick out an outfit the night before (which usually never happens and I need to get better at that) what usually happens is by the time my first alarm goes off and I hit the snooze for those extra 5 minute where I am half asleep and awake I start thinking of everything I have in my closet and what I could pair with it.  This is the product of one those mornings, where the whole outfit was picked in my head (it’s amazing how much you can remember lol).  I love this top because it has a subtle polka dot print with a little ruffle action around the v-neck section and you can pair this top with basically anything and everything, another thing I love about it it’s that you can belt it as it comes with a little matching sash.  Do you have any tips and tricks on how you get ready in the mornings?

Siempre me da mucha pereza en las mañana y encontrar un atuendo para el trabajo puede ser desalentador tan temprano en la mañana y mas si tienes hijos que tienes que preparar.  Siempre intento tratar de escoger un atuendo la noche anterior (que por lo general nunca sucede y necesito mejorar eso) lo que suele ocurrir es en el momento que mi primera alarma suena y le golpeó el “snooze” para dormir 5 minutos adicionales que usualmente estoy media dormida y despierta me pongo a pensar en todo lo que tengo en mi armario y como lo puedo usar.  Este atuendo es producto de una de esas mañanas, donde todo lo eliji de mi cabeza (es increíble lo mucho que puedes recordar lol). Me encanta esta camisa porque tiene un estampado de puntitos sutil y se puede usar este top con básicamente con todo, otra cosa que me gusta es que tiene in cinturón que eso le da otro look a la camisa. ¿Ustedes que opinan tienen algunos consejos y trucos sobre cómo se prepara por las mañanas?

It's My Bloggiversary!!

Hey Loves!! Well if you haven’t noticed the title it’s my bloggiversary today!! I am beyond excited at the progress that I have made during this last year.  My style has changed, evolved into something that I am just feel so happy and comfortable with, I take more risks now than I used to.  I play with colors, patterns and textures to create something that feels like me.  This year has been amazing I was able to do a lot of cool things, like attend local fashion shows; I was able to do amazing collaborations with amazing companies and bloggers.  I hope in this year to grow my brand further and I want to be able to continue work with these companies and bloggers. To all my City Hip In A Country Zip readers, followers, friends, and family thank you so much for being there for me every step of the way.  Stick with me this year and see what is in store for my blog.  To celebrate this accomplishment I am having a giveaway, Audrey from Conversation Pieces (one of my favorite stores) has teamed up with me to host this part of this giveaway and the other portion I am doing with my own funds because I am just so happy that I want to do something special for your guys! Hola amores ! Bueno, si usted no ha notado el título es mi bloggiversary hoy ! Estoy más que emocionada con el progreso que he hecho durante este último año. Mi estilo ha cambiado, evolucionado en algo que me siento muy feliz y cómoda con mi estilo,tomo más riesgos ahora de lo que solía hacer.  Juego con colores, diferente estampados y texturas para crear algo que se siente como yo. Este año ha sido increíble pude hacer un montón de cosas interesantes, como asistir fashion shows de moda locales, pude hacer colaboraciones con empresas y otro bloggers increíbles. Espero que en este año pueda crecer mi blog aun más y quiero continuar el trabajo con estas empresas y bloggers . A todos mis lectores de City Hip In A Country Zip, a mis seguidores, amigos y familia muchas gracias por estar ahí para mí en cada paso de este camino. This dress is absolutely fabulous! The print and colors are just amazing and a huge plus is that it is super comfy.  The fabric is soft and stretchy, and the length is perfect... I know that I will be able to get a lot of use out of it since it can be dressed up with a pair of heels or booties or you can dress it down with a pair of flats.  I kept everything simple because I wanted the dress to be the focus.  If you follow me on instagram you know that a couple weeks ago I was at TJ Maxx trying to decide which purse I wanted to buy and as you can see by the pictures I decided on the all blue Michael Kors bag which is beyond fabulous!

Este vestido es absolutamente fabuloso! El estampado y los colores son simplemente increíble y una gran ventaja es que es súper cómodo. La tela es suave y tiene un poco elásticidad, y lo largo es perfecto... Sé que le voy a dar un buen uso a este traje, ya que con un par de tacones o botines puedes lucir elegante o si se pone un par de flats puedes lucir mas casual, mantuve todo simple porque quería que el vestido fuera el foco.  Si me sigues en instagram saben que hace un par de semanas atras estuve en TJ Maxx tratando de decidir qué cartera que quería comprar y como se pueden ver por las fotos que me decidí por la cartera azul de Michael Kors y simplemente es fabulosa!

The White Pant.... A Collaboration Story!

Hey Loves! today I am teaming up with fellow fashion blogger babe Altagracia from Inspire By Style to bring you this ootd on how we each style white pants for spring.  As we all know the white pant is here to stay for spring and summer so we are going to show you 2 ways how you can easily style them.  I was thinking when Altagracia first came to me with this idea that I was going to paired them with my floral top and blue heels.  But then I received my leopard sneakers from Steve Madden and I just new that I wanted to do a casual chic outfit instead.  So I paired my white skinny jean with a mint striped shirt and I threw on a dark wash denim jacket because let's face it it can still be chilly in the spring.  I absolutely love the way the outfit came together, I know that this can be an easy go to outfit for weekend casual chic look.  Can I also say that I am in love with my new leopard print sneakers!! They have quickly become my go to shoes in my closet, they are comfy and very easy to style to give any outfit a chic look.

Hola Amores! hoy estoy haciendo equipo con la fabulosa bloguera de moda Altagracia de Inspire By Style para mostrarles cómo usar pantalones blancos para la primavera. Como todos sabemos, el pantalón blanco está aquí para quedarse para la primavera y el verano por lo tanto le queríamos mostrar 2 maneras de cómo usted puede usar su pantalón blanco fácilmente.  Cuando Altagracia me escribió con la idea de hacer la colaboración yo ya tenia en mente usar una camisa con un estampado de flores y unos tacones azules.  Pero recibí mis zapatillas de leopardo de Steve Madden y cuando las vi cambie de idea y quería hacer un atuendo casual chic.  Así que combiné mi pantalón skinny blanco con una camisa de rayas en un color menta, me puse una chaqueta denim lavado oscuro, porque seamos sinceros, todavía puede ser frío en las mañana cuando estamos en primavera.  Me encanton con el resultado final de este atuendo, puedo decir que es algo que se pueden poner en el find de semana para un look casual y chic.  ¿También les puedo decir que estoy enamorada de mis nuevas zapatillas con el estampado de leopardo! Ellos se han convertido rápidamente en unos de mis favoritos zapatos en mi armario, son cómodos y bien fácil de combinar para darle un toque chic a tu atuendo.

Easy Spring Trends To Try!

Hey Loves! Sorry I have been MIA I have been snowed in since Tuesday night!! Here in NC we received 11+ inches of snow and some ice and for a state that is not used to getting this type of weather it shuts everything down.  So I had the pleasure of working from home for a couple days and playing with my kids since it is the first time that they see snow and understand what it is, so we made a snowman and played in the snow.  So needless to say I do not have any outfit posts, but it got me thinking forward to spring and some of the trends that I am looking forward to try.  So in this post I will show you 2 trends I want to try. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hola amores! Lo siento, he estado MIA es que estaba nevando desde martes en la noche! Aquí, en Carolina del Norte recibimos 11 pulgadas de nieve y un poco de hielo y para un estado que no está acostumbrado con este tipo de clima se paralizo todo. Así que tuve el placer de trabajar desde casa por un par de días y jugar con mis hijos, ya que es la primera vez que ven la nieve y entienden lo que es, así que hicimos un muñeco de nieve y jugamos muchísimo en la nieve. Así que no hace falta decir que no tengo retratos de nuevos atuendos, pero me hizo pensar hacia adelante a primavera y algunas tendencias que estoy con ganas de probar.  Así que en este artículo voy a mostrar 2 tendencias que quiero probar. Fringe: There is something so girly about fringe, it gives and oldies vibe to any new modern piece.  Here I chose a floral lace top with fringe on the bottom of the shirt, I have paired it with faux leather pants some booties, a clutch and I kept the accessories to a minimum to let the shirt be the star of this outfit, this would be perfect for date night which with this top dancing would be perfect as you twirl the fringe will spin with you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Franja: Hay algo tan femenino sobre la franja, que da una vibra antigua a cualquier pieza moderna. Aquí he elegido un top de encaje floral con la franja en la parte inferior de la camisa, lo empareje con pantalones de cuero, unos botines, una cartera y he mantenidos los accesorios a un mínimo para que la camisa sea la estrella de este atuendo, este atuendo perfecto para una salida es mas bailando sería perfecto, ya que la franja girará con usted!

Embellishments:  We can kick off the warmer weather by adding bling to our wardrobe.  You will find embellished pieces everywhere now, it is such an easy to wear style.  You can easily add glam to your closet by adding embellished pieces of clothing.  Here I chose a floral embellished shirt with leather shorts and a purple pump to bring out the purple of the shirt I was going for a sporty chic look. add some hoops and a high bun and you will be the life of the party in this look.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Adornos: Podemos poner en marcha el clima más cálido añadiendo el bling en nuestro armario. Usted encontrará pieces con adornos en todas partes ahora, es una tendencia fácil de usar. Usted puede agregar fácilmente glamour a tu armario añadiendo piezas adornadas. Aquí elegí una camisa adornada con un estampado floral con pantalones cortos de cuero y unos zapatos color púrpura para sacar el color púrpura de la camisa, quería un look sporty chic, puedes añadir algunos aros y un moño alto y usted será el alma de la fiesta en este atuendo.
